Women’s Eights Head 2023

FSC had two crews racing in WEHoRR this year: a senior 8 entered in the Challenge category and a development 8 entered in the Beginner category.

The senior women had an illness hit run up to the race, hello flu and Covid, but despite the impact this had on their training, were able to have their best race of the winter season on the day. Brilliant coxed by Captain Josh Morgan, the first 8 overtook twice during the race and came 150th overall.

The second 8 was made up from our development squad, targeting the Beginner pennant. Our development women have trained incredibly hard all winter, throwing themselves into land and water training and making incredible progress. They had an absolutely fantastic race, coming second in their category to a composite Oxford college crew. This made them the fastest beginner club crew in their category. The whole club is hugely proud of them.
